Corston-Smith Asset Management has written a handbook entitled “Malaysian Youth – Learn to Make Sense of Your Money – What They Don’t Tell You When You First Start Work” as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.

When we developed this handbook, we had the young adults in mind, especially those that have just entered the work force. The handbook aims to equip them with some basics in personal money management and urging them to be responsible for their own financial matters. The handbook encourages good financial housekeeping habits such as how to make a monthly income and expenditure worksheet, to start a disciplined savings habit early, not to over depend on credit cards to avoid building up costly debt, and the importance of maintaining their credit-worthiness.

We believe that when one is in control of their finances, they will be able to more productive, and have the option to broaden their skills which will help widen their opportunities in life.
